We’re brimming with excitement and thrilled to announce that we will be hosting an hour-long mini-session at OpenStax Creator Fest 2020! We have also donated $3,500 to OpenStax for travel stipends for teachers who need additional funding to attend.
Openstax is a nonprofit educational initiative based at Rice University, and their mission is to give every student the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. Their textbooks are used in 56% of college and universities in the U.S. and over 100 countries! They take active steps in improving student learning through their online courseware and partnership with low-cost technology providers, like us.
Join us for our Mini-Session
As part of our mini-session, we will be demonstrating how our products work and also giving away free copies of our new book, The Ultimate Guide to Using Microlearning for Educators, with over 50 practical ways to use microlearning in your teaching right now. We’re looking forward to having a conversation with how instructors use our courses in their teaching and receiving valuable, in-depth feedback.
About OpenStax Creator Fest
Creator Fest is a multi-day hack-a-thon style experience for educators passionate about open educational resources.
OpenStax is inviting instructors from all over to collaborate in developing the open materials they need for their courses. In addition to having hours of creation time to build ancillary resources for OpenStax books, attendees will also get to hear from leading voices in higher education. Each talk and workshop is carefully designed to give instructors the tools they need to move forward in a changing education landscape and join important conversations about the future of learning. Join us in Houston, Texas from March 24th to 27th as we improve learning one resource, one instructor, and one mission at a time.
Instructors at the college and K12 levels are encouraged to register now through March 24th. If you’re not an instructor but you would still like to attend Creator Fest, please register by selecting the “Education Professional” registration option.
